Lou Harrison: Piano Concerto
The case for my program:
The Copland and the Harrison are almost never performed. The Copland and Ravel are very American – almost brothers from another mother, as they say. The first two concertos are complementary; they share common DNA. And the Harrison, though of a completely different language, makes a great chaser.
